Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Dawn mobile application (the "App"), operated by Dawn ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the App.
1. End User License Agreement (EULA)
The App is licensed, not sold, to you. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
- You may not distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.
- You may not copy (except as expressly permitted by this license), reverse-engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works of the App.
- This license will terminate immediately if you fail to comply with these Terms, and you must then destroy all copies of the App in your possession.
2. Content Policy & Community Standards
Dawn fosters a supportive, respectful environment. By using the App, you agree to our Zero Tolerance Policy for objectionable content.
- Prohibited Content: You may not post content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, bigoted, hateful, violent, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise offensive, or that harms or can reasonably be expected to harm any person or entity.
- Enforcement: We reserve the right to monitor user content and to remove any content or ban any user at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we believe a violation has occurred.
- Reporting Mechanism: Users can flag objectionable content or block abusive users directly within the App. We commit to reviewing all reported content within 24 hours and taking appropriate action, which may include removing the content and permanently banning the offending user.
- Privacy Note: Your raw journal entries are never displayed to other users. Only AI-generated prayers derived from your entries appear on the Global Prayer Feed.
3. User Accounts & Responsibilities
You are responsible for your use of the App and for any content you provide, including compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Anonymous Identity: Dawn uses an anonymous, device-generated identifier instead of traditional accounts. No email, name, or phone number is required.
- Device Security: Since your identity is tied to your device, losing your device data (e.g., by uninstalling the App without backing up) may result in permanent loss of account access and all associated data.
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Dawn offers a free tier and optional "Dawn Premium" subscription plans.
4.1 Free Tier
- One journal entry per day.
- Advertisements are displayed (subject to your ATT and GDPR consent preferences).
4.2 Premium Subscription
- Unlimited journal entries and prayers per day.
- Available as Weekly or Yearly plans.
4.3 Payment Terms
- Payment Processing: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. All payments are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Renewal Charges: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
- Management & Cancellation: You can manage and cancel your subscription by going to your Apple ID Account Settings → Subscriptions on your device.
- Free Trials: If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds: All sales are final. Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple according to their refund policy.
5. Content Ownership & Rights
Your Content: You retain full ownership of the journal entries you input into the App.
License to Us: By posting content that appears on the Global Prayer Feed (i.e., through the AI-generated prayer derived from your entry), you grant Dawn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, and display such AI-generated content in connection with operating and providing the App's services. This license ends when you delete your account.
Our Content: The App, including its design, features, branding, and all AI-generated content templates, is the intellectual property of Dawn and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The App uses artificial intelligence (specifically, OpenAI's language models) to generate prayers, blessings, and reflections based on your journal entries.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: AI may produce text that is factually incorrect, nonsensical, culturally insensitive, or unrelated to your input. Dawn makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of any AI-generated content.
- Not Religious Advice: AI-generated prayers are for personal mindfulness and reflection purposes only. They do not carry religious authority and are not a substitute for spiritual counsel from a qualified religious leader or institution.
- User Discretion: You are solely responsible for evaluating any AI-generated content before relying on it, sharing it, or acting upon it.
7. Medical & Mental Health Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: Dawn is a mood journaling and spiritual reflection tool. It is NOT a medical device, diagnostic tool, or therapeutic service. It is NOT a substitute for professional mental health care, counseling, or medical advice.
If you or someone you know is in crisis:

8. Service Availability
We work hard to keep Dawn running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee that the App will be available at all times. The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time without prior notice.
9. Termination
- By Us: We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
- By You: You may stop using the App at any time. You may delete your account and all associated data by using the "Delete Account" button in the App's Settings.
- Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 15 survive termination.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dawn and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Dawn, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the App;
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the App;
- Any AI-generated content obtained from the App;
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days of written notice, either party may pursue resolution through the courts specified in Section 13.
13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal proceedings arising out of these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Türkiye.
14. Apple-Specific Terms
The following additional terms apply to your use of the App as downloaded from the Apple App Store:
- Acknowledgement: These Terms are between you and Dawn only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Dawn, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Scope of License: The license granted to you is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Maintenance and Support: Dawn is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the App, as required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
- Warranty: Dawn is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Product Claims: Dawn, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Intellectual Property: In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Dawn, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- Third-Party Beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
15. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dawn regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
- Waiver: The failure of Dawn to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
- Force Majeure: Dawn shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, or failures of third-party services.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
